Events / To do this week / Screening of “The Girl Who Wore Freedom – 80 years of liberation
As part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of our country, the Délégation Générale du Bas-Rhin du Souvenir Français invites you to join us on the evening of 25/11 at the Cinéma Le Trèfle in Dorlisheim. You will be able to attend the screening of the film "The Girl who wore Freedom" in the presence of the American director Ms. Taylor and the son of an airman who fell in Alsace in 1944: Mr. Billy Winters.
This documentary brings together men and women who lived through the landings of June 6, 1944, veterans of the American army and residents of Normandy, who were very young at the time of the Liberation of France.
Come and enjoy a relaxing evening in memory of those who took part in our liberation 80 years ago.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director and Mr. Winters.
Entertainment will be provided by USAGOA, a historical re-enactment association: jeeps, period military clothing, magazines, etc.
